Canadian Forces College Graduating Class of 2016

Annual Graduation and Convocation Ceremonies were held at the Canadian Forces College, Toronto on 21 June, 2016. A total of 247 Canadian and International military officers, along with senior civil service executives, received diplomas, while 107 were also awarded a Masters Degree from the Royal Military College of Canada. Of this graduating class, included were 44 International Military Officers representing 24 nations, and a cohort of 10 senior public servants from 8 Federal Government departments. An Honorary PhD was awarded to former Chief of Defence Staff, General (Ret’d) Walter Natynczyk (pictured in red robes) who delivered a stirring address to the graduates.

The CFC Foundation supported Academic Awards for distinguished graduates and College staff  were a key feature of the ceremony. Pictured is College Honorary Colonel and Foundation Chair Emeritus, MGen (Ret’d) Fraser Holman (in RCAF service dress) presenting the award for Strategic Excellence to Mr. Ruari Nicholson, a graduate executive of the National Security Programme.
